The Purpose of the Mid-cities magic circle
From the beginning . . .
Organized in 2014, the Mid-Cities Magic Circle has functioned solely to help performing magicians to improve the art and the "crafts" of magical entertainment.
The Dallas-Fort Worth region has active magic clubs, several affiliated with national and state organizations. At their monthly meetings, they provide a range of services for their memberships, not the least of which is fellowship where they enjoy the opportunities to share experiences, plan activities, and celebrate their histories. While magic is the focus of these activities, there is little attention to focused study of the performance of magic outside the occasional "teach-a-trick."
The primary focus--the only focus--of the Mid-Cities Magic Circle is the improvement of magical performance.
To that end, the monthly gatherings are open to any performing magicians who wish to devote two hours to specific aspects of the art of magical entertainment. The agenda is set from month to month at the end of each meeting by those attending each session.
Critically, to support this purpose, while participants enjoy an initial meal together,
- There is no formal organizational structure.
- There is no record keeping.
- There are no dues.
- There is no newsletter.
- There is no . . . well, okay! We do have a Facebook page and a website, but
- There are no officers.
- There is no "leader."
- And there is no required magical organizational affiliation.
There is, however, only the study of improvement magical performance!

Anyone interested in improving magical performance is welcome to attend each monthly session. There is a place for beginning, intermediate, and more advanced performers--each will come away from a session with tips, hints, approaches, and insights that can be applied to each person's skill set.
